Lodge Cast Iron 5qt Dutch Oven

Product Description
The Lodge Dutch Oven with Bail Handle is a versatile cast iron workhorse built for home kitchens, campfires, and anywhere you cook large batches. Equipped with a heavy lid and a sturdy bail handle, this oven excels at slow cooking, baking bread, simmering soups, or roasting meats. Pre‑seasoned with natural vegetable oil, it offers excellent heat retention and even heating right out of the box. Made in the USA, it’s created for longevity and dependable performance across many cooking styles and environments.

Specifications

The standard model starts with a 5‑quart capacity. This version includes a quality cast iron lid and a steel bail (wire) handle. It’s pre‑seasoned with 100 % natural vegetable oil and made without PFAS. The Dutch oven can be used on any stovetop (including induction), in the oven, on a grill, or over a campfire. A larger 9‑quart variant is available with larger dimensions and greater depth to handle bigger meals. The pot is thick cast iron to ensure even heat distribution and excellent heat retention; the lid fits tightly and helps seal in moisture. The steel bail handle allows safe lifting and suspension over heat when needed.

  • Built‑in seasoning means less prep before using; flavor improves with regular use

  • Excellent heat retention and even cooking make it suitable for stews, breads, roasts, and more

Usage Instructions

  1. Always preheat before adding food for best searing and even heat.

  2. Use low to moderate heat when starting to avoid hot‑spots; cast iron holds heat well and retains warmth.

  3. When cooking over a fire, suspend or place on coals, using the bail handle for moving.

  4. After cooking, let cool slightly, wash by hand while still warm, dry immediately.

  5. Apply light oil to the inside surface after drying to preserve seasoning.

Care and Safety

  • Hand‑wash only; avoid dishwashers and harsh detergents

  • Dry thoroughly to prevent rust; store in a dry place

  • Season regularly with natural oil to maintain nonstick qualities and protect the iron
