Questions
Answers on orders, shipping, returns, and buying firearms or ammunition — straight from the Jonesboro team.
Orders & Shipping
How long does it take for my package to arrive?
We ship Monday–Friday. Most orders arrive in 2–4 business days with standard shipping. Overnight and 3-Day Select are available at checkout; orders placed before 12:00 PM CST ship the same day, and weekends/holidays don't count toward transit time. Handguns ship via 2nd Day Air specifically. Shipping times may vary around severe weather.
Is shipping ever free?
Yes — shipping is free on most orders over $99 to the lower 48 states. It doesn't apply to Alaska, Hawaii, or select oversized items like decoys, feeders, and tree stands, which are noted on the product page.
How do I cancel an order?
Call us at (870) 938-0082 as soon as possible. If your order has already shipped, we may not be able to cancel it, and you'll be responsible for return shipping.
Who do I contact about an existing order?
Call (870) 938-0082 or email [email protected] with your order number handy.
Returns & Refunds
What's your return window?
30 days from delivery. If you buy between November 1 and December 31, that window is extended through January 31 so holiday gifts aren't rushed.
What condition does my return need to be in?
New and unused — the same condition it shipped in, with tags attached and original packaging. If getting into the item means damaging its manufacturer packaging (a sealed box, for example), it no longer qualifies.
How do I start a return, and when's my refund posted?
Start your return through our self-service returns portal (powered by Redo) — use the Start a Return link in the site footer, look up your order, and follow the prompts. From there you can request an exchange, get a prepaid return label, or take store credit, depending on what fits. No store account needed. Refunds typically post to your statement 3–5 business days after we receive and process the return.
What can't be returned at all?
Ammunition, bows, clearance items, duck/goose calls, firearms, knives, and tree stands or climbing sticks. These are final sale.
What about electronics and optics?
Electronics (cameras, range finders, GPS units, game feeders, fish finders, eCallers, and similar) must be new/unused, and you'll need to show return tracking within 14 days of delivery.
Optics must be unused to be considered for return. For either category, a defect or warranty issue goes to the manufacturer rather than through DNW's standard return process.

My order arrived damaged, or never showed up — what do I do?
Start a return through Redo, or reach out to customer service directly and we'll get it sorted.
What about wader returns and warranty?
Waders are handled separately from the general return policy above — warranty terms vary by brand and model across the lines we carry (Sitka, Drake, Banded, Gator, Natgear, Frogg Toggs). Punctures, tears, and normal wear-and-tear from use are never covered under manufacturer warranty, regardless of brand.

Firearm Transfers
Will DNW handle a transfer for a gun I bought elsewhere?
Yes. Transfers are a flat $25 plus tax — no separate fee for NFA items. Only the person named on the invoice may pick up the firearm — no exceptions. Tracking showing “delivered” doesn't mean it's ready; we'll call or email when it clears our internal process.
Can I return a firearm?
No — once a firearm has been transferred to you, the sale is final, unless we shipped you the wrong firearm. Mechanical issues or warranty claims are handled directly with the manufacturer, not through DNW Outdoors. Inspect the firearm at pickup before completing the transfer.
What do I need for a dealer-to-dealer or private-party transfer?
Dealer-to-dealer: a valid, current FFL from the receiving dealer — emailed to [email protected] (transferee's name as the subject) or packed with the firearm.
Private party: a legible photo or copy of the seller's state-issued ID, sent the same way.
NFA items: a Form 3 or Form 4 from the sender is required before we can start a new Form 4.

Ammunition & Firearm Purchases
Can I buy a firearm through the website?
Yes. Here's how it works:
- Choose your firearm and select your FFL at checkout. Add it to your cart — at checkout, our FFL lookup (powered by 20 North) lets you search for and select a licensed dealer near you.
- Don't see your dealer listed? Decline the list and reach out to the Gun Counter directly with their info — call (870) 972-5827 or email [email protected] with your order number as the subject.
- We ship it to your FFL. Firearms are never shipped to a home address.
- Complete the transfer. Once it arrives, your FFL will contact you to schedule pickup. You'll complete your background check and paperwork there — the same process as an in-store purchase. Any transfer fees or taxes your receiving dealer charges are your responsibility, due directly to them at pickup — not DNW Outdoors.
Can I buy ammunition online?
Yes. Ammunition ships via ground shipping to the 48 contiguous states, in compliance with all applicable federal and state law. Age is verified at checkout — 18+ for shotgun ammunition, 21+ for handgun and rifle ammunition. Residents of states with extra restrictions (LA, MN, PA, CA, CT, DE, IL, MA, NY, NJ, DC, KS, OH) should confirm local rules before ordering.
What states won't DNW ship firearms to?
California, Massachusetts, the city of Chicago, and Washington, D.C. Straw purchases — buying a firearm on someone else's behalf — are illegal, and only the person named on the order may take possession at the FFL.
Gift Cards & Coupons
Can I buy a DNW gift card online?
Not yet — gift cards aren't available online at this time. Visit the Jonesboro store to purchase one in person.
How do coupon codes work?
Some items are excluded from special offers and discounts, and codes can't be combined with other discounts or promotions unless stated otherwise.
